Biography

Caterina Chierico is a singer, composer and lyricist from Italy. She began studying
piano at the age of 9 and then devoted herself to the study of modern and jazz singing, first at the
Higher Academy of Singing in Verona with singer and teacher Karin Mensah and then at the F.A.
Bomporti Conservatory of the City of Trento where she had the opportunity to study with
prestigious musicians and teachers including: Elisabetta Antonini, Robert Bonisolo, Paolo Silvestri
and Roberto Cipelli.
In 2019 she wrote and recorded her first solo project, named “Tu Voz”, with
guitarist and co-composer Jacopo Lohs. The project is based on the poetic work of Alejandra
Pizarnik, a 20th-century Argentine poet; the compositional work comes to life from the written text
and culminates in the writing of pieces with contaminated sounds. Her stylistic research is based
on different styles, from jazz to folklore and pop music. In 2022, she finished Master’s in jazz
performance programme at the ESMUC institute in Barcelona, Spain. She has just released
her second album as singer, composer and arranger, named “Hasta Ahora”.
