The True School of Music Performances at The Mahindra Blues Festival 2015

Earlier this year, some of the best talent amongst our students & teachers at The True School of Music, got a chance to perform with some of the biggest name in Blues at the the annual Mahindra Blues Festival, at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai on February 14th & 15th 2015. This year’s stellar lineup of music performances included former Blues heavyweights & future stars, like Buddy Guy, Quinn Sullivan, Doyle Bramhall II with Rich Robinson from The Black Crowes, Nikki Hill, Thorbjorn Risager & The Black Tornado and Warren Mendonsa to name a few. Watch the video below to understand what goes on behind the scenes, as our students prepare for major events like these at The True School of Music….

After a tough series of internal auditions amongst our aspiring students, two bands emerged as winners & clinched a spot in the lineup along with the biggies at the Mahindra Blues Festival 2015. Straight Jacked Hat – consisting of Sarthak Swami, Siddhant Natrajan, Adil Kurwa & Karun Kannampilly – and Dirty Laundry – made up of Samarth Bahl, Tulsi Kapoor, Guarav Hiwale, Hansel Dias & Agneya Chikte – practiced real hard to deliver a spot on performance for this special event. They were also mentored regularly by our faculty through their preparations. Helping them out with all their sound needs & assistance, our pro sound engineering student – Arman Tejani – also helped these two bands during their set up & live music performances on both the days. It was a real sight to watch all the students operate together as one unit.

Besides these two student bands, another in house line up of ace musicians, this time consisting of our all star international pro faculty – Hebe Jones, Sean Richey, Francesco Becker-Schiavo, Jeroen Batterink, Lennart Altgenug & Chris Talio – performed too, as The True School Experience.

All in all the event was a grand success & we look forward to work along with The Mahindra Blues Festival once again next year!
