Luca Petracca was born in Rome, he started his musical studies as a guitar player, graduating in classical guitar at the conservatory of music “Santa Cecilia” of Rome, under the guidance of A. Luca started his composition studies first at the same conservatory in Rome, to move later, in 2011, to Amsterdam, where he graduated in classical composition in 2015 with professors Willem Jeths and Wim Henderickx at the “Conservatorium van Amsterdam”.

His compositions have a large variety of instrumentation, from intimate solo pieces to big orchestral works, chamber ensembles and electronic music. Apart from concert music production, he also works for theater and music for multimedia and often collaborates with different artists as an arranger and producer.

During his academic career, he studied and attended several master classes with important and well-known composers such as F. Nieder, N. Piovani, Guo Wenjing, L. Brouwer, T. Verbey, A. Meredith, C. Bauckholt, E. Pieranunzi, J. Haanstra and R. Mirigliano. In 2009 with the Erasmus program, he spent one year in Tallinn, Estonia, at the “Eesti Muusika Ja Teatriakadeemia” where he held many concerts, performing mostly with his original compositions.

In his career, Luca has always combined producing along with teaching, by working in several music schools, such as the Guitar Academy of Amsterdam and Arte2O in Rome. He is the head of the music production department at The True School of Music.
