Bands will come and go. Those that were popular in the 1980s and 1990s had their spotlight. Some of them are still around, but most of them have faded into the background. Many groups have even chosen to move on and work on solo projects.
One of the hottest trends that is being seen in the music industry right now is that of the musical comeback. Groups are choosing to get together “one last time” as a way of promoting a new album, going on a world tour, and sharing their music with a new demographic.
In the music industry, goodbye is not always a forever statement. Groups may even choose to get back together when they don’t have everyone that they originally started out with. There may be deaths, differences of opinion, and more preventing a group from being the original collection of people that they originally were – and even that does not stop a comeback or reunion tour.
New Kids on the Block was a pop sensation throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s. They decided to do a full reunion tour a few years back, and it was widely popular. Donnie Wahlberg, who was one of the founding members, has since become an actor and film producer, but that didn’t stop him from rocking the stage with the other founding members.
Other bands who have recently made musical comebacks include Led Zeppelin, Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath, The Police, and The Eagles, though there are many more as well. In some instances, they will do it as a way to give back to their fans, and other times, it is a way of being able to increase profits or give to a charitable donation.
The good thing about a music comeback is it means that you are never truly out of the music industry. Even when you hear about a musician making a comeback or going on a reunion tour, they are often still involved in music, either as a producer, or working in another capacity for a label. They simply aren’t making their own music in front of the masses. They may not have records out or have a tour booked, but they may be writing or producing behind some of your favorites.
This means that you will never be out of the music industry 100 percent, even if you decide to go on a hiatus. You can learn about music and get your education so that when you decide to make a career out of it, you can have the skills needed to make it big. Even after you have had your spotlight, there’s room for a comeback.
Take a look at some of the musicians and groups who are currently on tour. There are going to be at least a few that you will notice are making a comeback or going on a reunion tour. They still have a fan base and therefore they will be wildly successful while on their tour.
