It is all about the music and the vibe for Kedar Sakharkar also known as DJKD. He believes in creating an atmosphere where one feels calm and liberated. For him it’s about playing records that are accessible and intrinsically groovy.
In a world of preening prima donnas and professional fist-pumpers, KD is somewhat of an anomaly. It’s okay for him if you like his page or dawn his logo, but he is most happy to see you loosen up, enjoy and groove to his music.
His performance is characterized by its subtlety and sophistication. His goal is to inspire and educate, to tease and tantalize, and then – when the moment is right and the hands are in the air – to give the masses the track they’ve been waiting for.
KD has been involved with helping aspiring DJ professionals at The True School of Music (TSM) for the past 4 years. This includes establishing of a detailed curriculum for both beginners and pro aspirants. He also runs a growing Audio Visual Rental providing consultation services called Sound Inc.
In a distinguished career of almost two decades, KD has played almost every genre of music to every kind of crowd, from commercial to cutting-edge and everything in between. His performances were not just limited to India, but also spread over Thailand, Turkey, South Africa, Italy and Sri Lanka as well. He’s just grateful that he’s been blessed with the opportunity to play records for a living.
