Sean Richey is an artist and music educator residing in New York City. He is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music’s Jazz Arts Program and as an active freelancing guitarist, has performed alongside notable figures like Bailen, Fighting in the Streets, Grant’s Tomb, Sam Reider, Linda Oh, Pawan Benjamin, Ben Flocks, Louiz Banks, Ranjit Barot, Conun Pappas, Richard Saunders, JJ Kirkpatrick, Brian Lynch, Tim Ries, Rob Karpay, The LeBeouf Brothers, Candid Music Group, among many others. During his studies at MSM, Sean was the recipient of 2 Student Composition Awards for “Best Original Songs” from DownBeat Magazine and also bagged the Monterey Jazz Festival’s Gerald Wilson Big Band Composition Award owing to which he received the NY Regional Scholarship Award for Jazz Guitar from NFAA, Young Arts. As an educator, Sean has taught for the Manhattan School of Music Outreach & Summer Programs in NYC, Larchmont Music Academy, Camp Encore/Coda in Maine, & runs his own Private Studio in NYC.
