Academic Co-Ordinator and Drum teacher
Saurav has been playing drums since he was 15 years old and is a native of Calcutta, India. Having performed with numerous local acts during his teenage years, he decided to study music formally. While attaining a Foundation Certificate in Music Theory at the International College of Music, Kuala Lumpur he discovered his love for Jazz music and this lead him to further pursue his studies at the London Centre of Contemporary Music, UK in 2011.
Under the guidance of prolific British musicians such as Pete Cater, Richard Brook, Dave O’Higgins and Simon Wallace among others, he gained valuable knowledge in Performance, Composition and Production in Jazz and other contemporary styles of music. Saurav spent three years in the heart of London’s music scene and has performed at multiple venues such as the O2 Academy and the Wilton’s Music Hall with acts such as singer-songwriter Greyce and various LCCM ensembles. He also had the good fortune of being able to attend master classes by world-renowned musicians such as Michel Camilo and Benny Greb during his time in London.
He graduated in 2014 with an honours degree and has since returned to India to pursue a career in teaching and performance.
