Luca Petracca

Luca Petracca was born in Rome 09.06.1988, he starts his musical studies as guitar player, graduating in classical guitar at the conservatory of music “Santa Cecilia” of Rome, under the guidance of A. Tallini. Right after his graduation, begins his path in composition, which becomes very quickly is main interest. Luca starts his composition studies first at the same conservatory in Rome, to move later, in 2011, to Amsterdam, where he graduated in classical composition in 2015 with professors Willem Jeths and Wim Henderickx at the “Conservatorium van Amsterdam”.

His compositions have a large variety of instrumentation, from intimate solo pieces to big orchestral works, chamber ensembles and electronic music.

Next to his concert music production he works also for theater and music for multimedia; furthermore Luca often collaborates with different artists as arranger and producer.

During his academic career he studied and attended several master classes with important and well-known composers such as: F. Nieder, N. Piovani, Guo Wenjing, L. Brouwer, T. Verbey, A. Meredith, C. Bauckholt, E. Pieranunzi, J. Haanstra and R. Mirigliano.
In 2009 with the Erasmus program, he spent one year in Tallinn, Estonia, at the “Eesti muusika ja teatriakadeemia”; where Luca held many concerts, performing mostly with his original compositions.

Along his career Luca always combined an intense teaching activity, working in several music schools, such as the GuitarAcademy of Amsterdam and Arte2O in Rome.
