Giuseppe Vitale

Giuseppe Vitale was born in Treviso, Italy, in 1985. He begun his musical journey studying piano in the early youth.

He started playing the bass at the age of 16, taking classes with Andrè Tavarez, Andrea Lombardini and Marc Abrams.

He followed the classes of the Thelonious Monk School of Music in Mira (Venice) with Nicola Fazzini, Domenico Santaniello and Mauro Bordignon.

In 2007 he started his professional musician’s career, teaching in several schools in Treviso and working as a sideman with different bands in the pop scene (OltreLaura Pausini Tribute Band, Luca e i beehive, Giorgio Mattis e la CMI and many others.) and with different jazz ensembles, playing more than 400 concerts in 5 years.

In 2011 he received a scholarship at the Umbria Jazz Festival to follow the courses at the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston.

In 2012 he moved to Amsterdam to study at the Jazz Conservatory, where he graduates in 2016, taking classes from Theo De Jong, Charlie Angenois, Lenè te Voortwis, Jeroen Vierdag and David De Marez Oyens.

In 2013 he started the Life on Mars project bringing together different musicians from Spain and Italy, recording two albums and playing in different jazz clubs and venues in Italy.

He attended different masterclasses with Oscar Stagnaro, Claudio Zanghieri, Kai Eckhardt, Dick Oats, Marco Tamburini, Jeff Berlin, Dominique Di Piazza, Ney Conceição, Faso and many others.
